Data Engineer (Junior / Mid)

Integrum ESG’s purpose is to make professional investors aware of how the companies in which they invest are managing ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues. We do that by offering investors a subscription to our online machine-learning and NLP powered customisable dashboard; a SaaS cloud-hosted platform which offers company-specific and country-specific ESG data and ratings.

The opportunity:

We are now looking for a Data Engineer (junior / mid) to join our Central London office.

We offer the chance to work in a fascinating and expanding area that is taking ESG into mainstream investing, making capitalism more inclusive, and more responsible. You will report directly to the CTO - a vastly experienced individual from whom you will learn a great deal - and will work closely with the Lead ML - a former Harvard Research Fellow, as such there is opportunity to gain experience in cutting-edge NLP, advanced statistics and automated data flows while getting exposure to an important business area. This exceptional opportunity will super-charge your career, and you should expect to progress as the company and the team expand.

The package on offer includes a competitive salary of £30,000 or higher, flexible working hours, 25 days’ holiday and gym membership. You will work closely with the CEO and CTO on continually improving the product. You will have a direct impact on the product technical design and work in an autonomous, creative environment.#

Skills and experience required:

  1. - You will have a STEM degree (upper-second or first class) from a well-regarded University and data engineering experience.

    - Python programming

    - Pandas and scipy

    - Data storage technologies, SQL and NoSQL databases

    - Web technologies for fetching data

    - Cloud deployment of industrial strength data code

    - Testing strategies for all of the above

    - Preparing data sets

    - Building training and inference pipelines

    - NLP frameworks, such as Spacy, NLTK, Bert

The successful candidate should also:

  1. - Have a high IQ with a thirst for knowledge

    - Have an innate sense of accountability and an obsession about product quality

    - Be critical of development processes and always look to improve them

    - Have an interest and pride in being part of an ESG business

    - Understand what the product means to the user so that they can engineer for that

    - Have good communication skills

Interview Process

Given the opportunity available, the selection process will be challenging:

  1. - Background / Introductory video call interview with the CTO

    - Technical Test

    - Technical interview with the CTO and the Lead ML

    - Challenging interview with the founder

You will also meet all other members of our tight-knit small team and be asked to sit a straightforward 40-minute multiple choice IQ test (verbal and non-verbal reasoning questions that one cannot revise for)

Full Stack Developer (Mid / Senior)

Integrum ESG is a start-up company. It currently consists of 12 staff; 5 on tech, 5 on data quality and 2 on sales, and the Founder CEO who will oversee all projects but focus hard on sales.

The current ‘prudent’ business plan assumes 25 personnel by late 2024. We plan to open NY and HK offices, but we are not Monzo and don’t want to be. If you want 200 people at your staff Xmas party, Integrum ESG is not for you. If you want a small, very friendly team of intelligent, driven people, where it really matters whether you show up on Monday or not, we are definitely for you.

About the role:

We are now looking for a senior developer to join our small and stylish Central London office.

You will report directly to the CTO; a vastly experienced individual from whom you will learn a great deal. There is also the opportunity to gain experience in DevOps, Python and Machine Learning. This exceptional opportunity will super-charge your career, and you should expect to progress as the company and the team expand.

You will work closely with the CEO and CTO on launching and continually improving the product. You will have a direct impact on the product technical design and work in an autonomous, creative environment.

Skills and experience required:

  • You will have a degree in Computer Science or the equivalent (upper-second or first class) from a well-regarded University, plus end-to-end experience

The successful candidates will possess experience in many if not all of the following technologies:

  • JavaScript
  • Typescript
  • Python
  • React
  • Redux
  • HTML, CSS3
  • Agile development processes
  • Automated testing
  • Devops
  • SQL (preferably Postgres)

They should also have experience in the wider development processes including:

  • Design, architecture and software selection
  • Prioritization and roadmapping
  • Sprint planning
  • Developing junior staff

It would be a bonus if they also had experience in any of the following (and/or be interested to expand their knowledge of them):

  • Kubernetes
  • GCP, Terraform, Pulumi
  • ML
  • GraphQL

They should also:

  • Have a high IQ with a thirst for knowledge

  • Have an innate sense of accountability and an obsession about product quality

  • Be critical of development processes and always look to improve them

  • An interest and a pride in being part of an ESG business

  • Second more challenging interview with the founder, and a technical interview with the CTO

You will also meet all other team members, and sit a straightforward 40-minute multiple choice IQ test (verbal and non-verbal reasoning questions)
